Bexley, fine American made writing instruments. Not many many made in the United States, so here is a quality company the is creating pens that are inspired by the classics of the previous years.

Bexley PensBexley is a relatively young company. A group of vintage pen enthusiasts founded the company in 1993. Their goal and passion was to use current technology to create American classic designs reminiscent of the Golden Age of Fountain Pens.

Bexley manufactures it pens in Columbus, Ohio, USA and distributes them to dealers around the world.

From my reading, Howard Levy is known as a master pen engineer. He is known as a vintage pen collector with a solid knowledge of the history of American fountain pens.

Bexley pens are traditionally made in relatively small numbers. Some lines are limited editions while others are considered regular production pieces.

Their pens are based on the designs of classic pens. Bexley uses a variety of materials that range from ebonite, a hardened rubber material that was popular before modern plastics came into use in the 1920's to resins. Consistent with the theme, the pens can utilize a variety of filling systems from eyedropper, a pushbutton or cartridges, converter or a piston actuated converter.

Some of the modern equipment uses computer controls for the precision manufacturing experience. Skilled craftsmen assemble and polish each pen.

The Bexley Americana has made it into one of Pens of Note categories.

Bexley Americana

The Bexley Americian is one of my Pens of Note - those pens in my collection of which that I have taken particular note. It is a large size pen, and the stub nib is particularly smooth.
