Delta

Creating pens since 1982, the company has produced pens of distinction in terms of design and quality.

When someone says the name Delta, I immediately think of their iconic pen, the DolceVita. The oversized fountain pen is one that will eventually be in my collection.

Nino Marino, Circo Matrone and Mario Muscente formed a partnership and created Delta Pen back in 1982. The first pens they produced reflected models of pens that were popular in the 1920s and 1930s. The used quality materials that included celluloid, ebonite and precious metals.

The company started off to establish themselves as being different from other companies. Converters and inner piston mechanisms were popular, they reintroduced the level-and-rubber-sac filling system for their special limited edition models.

In 1994 Delta was a sponsor to the G7 Summit in Naples and the company produced the G& Limited Edition, a three-piece set, with 1994 pieces produced. Canada's Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien received his pen at that Summit.

The design, manufacturing, assembling and shipping of Delta pens is all accomplished at their headquarters located near Naples, Italy.

Delta has produced many notable pens. For example, Delta was chosen to create a special pen for the city of Venice, and on September 7, 1998 the mayor of Venice received the pen and declared Delta's Venezia Limited Edition the official pen of Venice.

Unfortunately, a few days before an arranged visit in September 2010 with Delta I had to cancel the trip to Napoli because of our travel schedule. I do thank them for agreeing to the visit and I look forward to arranging a visit next year.

The YAFA Pen Company handles North American distribution of Delta pens.
