Diamine

The Browns

There is a good range of colours so it is unlikely one would not find a brown colour tone that would be a match for what they would want.

Diamine - Burnt Sienna

Burnt Sienna

This brown has rich red clay tones. Overall, a lighter tone of brown, and almost leaning towards a pastel look.

When writing with a broad nib there are very distinct tones and shades to the line. For my preference, inks that have such distinctive shading tend to more for my personal notes rather than business writing.

Diamine Ink - Chocolae Brown

Chocolate Brown

Here is a colour that I have taken an immediate liking to. Chocolate Brown is a deep rich brown. Solid in tone and character. It is a ink that looks good in both personal and business writing.

Diamine Dark Brown Ink

Dark Brown

I must admit, after using the Saddle Brown and Golden Brown, I was expecting a different colour when I started to use Dark Brown. There is a chestnut like tone to this ink, and there was variation in tone and shades when writing with a broad nib.

The colour is fine, it was not what I was expecting.Diamine Dark Brown

Diamine Ink - Golden Brown

Golden Brown

Here is a strong, solid brown ink that I have found to be suitable for both business and personal writing.

There are good undertones to the ink, and they come out when writing with a broad or stub pen.

Below is the colour swatch from the Diamine web site, it is a good representation of the colour of the ink.

Diamine Ink - Raw Sienna

Raw Sienna

Raw Sienna is an “easy on the eye” brown with a flat colour tone.

When writing with a broad nib, there were good undertones that came out giving shadding to the strokes.

I have used this colour for both for business and personal notes. When looking back at documents written with this colour, the colour stands the test of time.

Diamone Rustic Brown

Rustic Brown

This is a great new colour.

Almost an brown red. Solid, bold and dark. A great combination of ink characteristics for business or personal writing.

Good flow and drying time. The ink has performed well in a range of pens.

It is always interesting to see which inks I receive comments about in terms of what people like or dislike. Rustic brown typically received very positive reviews.

Diamine Ink - Saddle Brown

Saddle Brown

This is a solid dark brown with no yellow or gold undertones. It is very similar to Golden Brown or Chocolate Brown (released in 2009). It has looked great in both business and personal writing. Good drying time and flow.

Diamine Sepia Brown

Sepia Brown

This was a colour I was looking forward to having. But in using the colour, it is a bit pale in tone for my preference.

It did look good on cards. That being said, there is great shading with this ink so when write a few lines of text on a card, there is a great look to the writing.

It is a good performing ink, consistent with flow and drying times of the other Diamine colours.
