Pens of Note - Bexley
Bexley Americana

I don't buy very many pens on-line as I want to have the experience of trying the pen at a store to know that it is going to be a good pen for my hand. But, here is an exception to the rule, and an exception that turned out very good.
I saw the offer for the Bexley Americana at a good price. The pens have been discontinued by Bexley. They line, consistent with the vision of Bexley, is to recreate classic fountain pens using modern technology. The Americana was originally introduced to reflect the Art Deco style fountain pens that were popular during the 1930's. I understand that this pen was meant to honour the Wahl-Eversharp Doric. The classic look and the overall size of the pen appealed to me. .
When the pen arrived I was very impressed with the overall look. The pens have eight facets on the cap and barrel so the pen reminded me of many of my OMAS Arte Italianna pens.
The pen is 5.75" long when closed and posting the cap creates a very large pen indeed.
The pen is constructed from a single piece of acrylic resin and the red that I purchases has rich tones and light really brings the pen to life. The line came in five colours: Sanibel Blue, Sierra Silver, Rio Grande Red, Greenbrier, and Yellowstone. They were available as a fountain pen, a convertible ball pen/ gel pen/ roller ball pen.
Of course I wanted the fountain pen. So I loaded the pen up with the converter that send with the pen, and the minute the nib hit the paper, I knew I had a winner.
The writing experience is great. The pen smoothly flows across the paper. The 18 carat solid gold nib is responsive the the Broad Stub nib lays a great line of ink.
I also liked the ownership experience. A small warranty card is with the pen. You fill out your personal information and send the card back to Bexley. Bexley pens are warranted to the original registered owner for normal use for the life of the pen.
