Great Pen Stores - Stores of Note - Japan
Ito-Ya Ginza Flagship Store
Web Site (all Japanese)
Image right: impressive fountain pen floor.
This store is located just two blociks from the Ginza Subway line (Ginza Station) and just a half a block beyond the Matsuya Ginza Department Store.
In an area of high class stores, this pen store ranks high class because of its friendly service. This is a stationery department store, some 150,000 items, including gift paper, note pads and Japanese-themed greeting cards on its 9 floors. The fountain pens are located on the mezzanine level. The selection of name-brand pens and inks is comprehensive, and not just the jaw-dropping high-end collector pens from Japan, Europe and the U.S. For those who shop there, they say the in-store repair service is a major feature.
Nibs can be cleaned and adjusted on the spot in as little as an hour while you shop. Plan your time as the pen reparis close over the lunch period. (Thanks, J. Canaday)

I have been told that this is the store to beat. Buying a pen here is quite the experience. They serve you tea, seat you on wonderful desks and and provide different grades of paper to try the pen. Ohhh. This sounds very very good. (Thanks Ravi)
