Great Pen Stores - Stores of Note - Netherlands
The Hague and Amsterdam, The Netherlands
P.W. Akkerman has received positive reviews from a variety of pen enthusiasts as well as a recent write-up in PenWorld. The store, founded in 1910, is located behind the house of Parliament. Not only does the store sell an extensive inventory of pens, but they have also offered their own line. The staff are very helpful. Paul Rutte is the Store Manager. The store is a must for any visitor as it includes pens and a collection of some 300+ ink bottles. One of them a sealed, blown-glass bottle of French Juhlia ink that dates from 1900s.
Gasser from Pennsylvania notes this store has a great collection of pens including some Lamy pens not usually seen in North America. They have a "house pen", a small bottle filling pen from Lamy with a 14K nib. They also carry a wooden barrel plastic pen by Lamy designed to be a child's first pen. J. Norstedy from Blacksburg Virginia has also written in about this store. The staff are very helpful. H. Schoeyer from the Netherlands says this is one of the best stores in Europe.
