Villa Andrea - Tucepi(2009) A nice beach stopover between Split and Dubrovnik.  On the day we were there the gods were with us and it turned out to be a bright sunny day.

Beach at TucepiWe quickly changed into our bathing suits and the staff promptly came out with the lounge chairs and pads.  Ahhh- what a wonderful way to spend the day, particularly, sipping gin and tonics while enjoying the sea!!

My research told me that Croatia, although, known for its crystal clear waters, it is not known for its sandy beaches.  The majority of small hotels showed people either lying directly on their beach towels on the rocks or a concrete platform.  The picture of the lounge chairs and umbrellas at the Villa Andrea was a big drawing card.  I am sure glad of the offering as we soon found out it was no pebble beach but rather 2” diameter sharp rocks with even bigger ones in the shallow part of the water.  Still, it was lovely to be there, but don’t forget to pack your water-shoes!!!

Villa Andrea - TucepiVilla Andrea is small with many of the rooms having a balcony and a sea view. We took Superior rooms as the rate was not much higher than the Standard and they are considerably larger. We had a lovely room with a large balcony and sea view and our friends had a room with both a sea and mountain view.

We were greeted warmly and received a welcome drink and sweets when we arrived.  The staff were all friendly and we enjoyed a very delicious meal on their outdoor terrace.  There is not much in Tucepi itself, but it has a nice beach and the location is a perfect stopover between Split and Dubrovnik..  We were really pleased with our hotel selection….the Villa Andrea did not disappoint!!
