Located just a short drive north west of Nice, St. Paul-de-Vence is almost a home away from home for us. This is a very pleasant village in the hills above the coast. Visit the town early in the morning, before the endless stream of tour buses arrive, and you will find it most pleasant. Evening diners are also pleasant as by the time the sun is setting, the day trip excursions have long left leaving a much more quite town. We have always stayed at Hameau and this is a bit of heaven!
Saint-Tropez
On our first trip to Provence, it was one of towns that we felt we just had to visit. Pleasant port with cafes, walk around and enjoy the endless scene of ghastly expensive boats with all the hustle and bustle they bring but then move on to other sites.
We are heading back to Provence in 2004 and will returning to some locations and visiting places that to-date we just have somehow missed.
Karen and Glenn Marcus travel extensively throughout France and Italy. We would enjoy hearing from you.
