Our trip started as we met our friends at the Paris airport and then proceed to Nice and the town of St. Paul de Vence.
From there we drove to Venezia (Venice).
That was the start of travels to new areas: Trieste and the boarder of Italy and Croatia.
We saw the Istria Penninsula of Croatia which included Pula and Rovinj.
Continuing down the coast of Croatia we stopped in Split and used it as a base to visit some of the islands..
We concluded the drive arriving in Dubrovnik.
We left Dubrovnik by ferry for Bari, Italy.
Arriving in Bari we are back in Italy, and will make our way over to the Amalfi Coast.
We stayed a night in Matera and also saw the Castel del Mont.
Then more of our friends joined us in Amalfi. It was good to see Nicola and Rosa again at the Hotel Villa San Michele.
At the end of the week the "group" splits; some returning to Rome for flights back to Vancouver, the lucky ones remain for another week in Italy.
We will head up to Tuscany and take in town in the Chianti area. A trip to Firenze was great.
We stop at Orvieto and have the pleasure of joining our friend Maurizio at the Borgo San Faustino to celebrate his birthday!
Then it is down to Rome, a visit with our friend Marco of Novelli Pen and then sadly, home again.
