Two trips, three countries

The year starts with a short trip to France. C'est la vie.

ParisThe trip to France starts with about a week in Paris. We stay in our usual apartment and look forward to again living in Paris.

From there it is off the east coast to visit friends in Bretagne (Vannes) and in La Rochelle (the Poitou-Charentes Region).

We rent a charming house not far from Saint Émilion in the Aquitaine Region. Friends from Vancouver join us for some travels in France.

Il est bon d'être de retour en France.

And ends with a longer trip to Italy. La dolcevita.

ItalyWe are in the planning stage, but it looks like landing in Rome, and then spending a week on the Amalfi Coast.

Glenn may visit with Delta pen in Napoli, if some time in Napoli can be worked into the schedule.

Then it is most like down to Sicily and then perhaps to Malta.

We will end the trip with a week in Rome.

It is all in the planning stage now.

A quick flight to Malta.

MaltaThe Republic of Malta is an archipelago, a group of seven islands, located about 80 km south of Sicily. Of the islands, only Malta, Gozo and Comino are inhabited.

The sights range from prehistoric temples to baroque architecture of its capital, Valletta.

This is a area of endless fishing villages with collorful boats and scenic ports and bays.

There is fast catamaran ferry service from Catania or Pozzallo in Sicily. The trip is around 90 minutes. There are traditional ferries from other ports in Italy, including Genoa or Salerno, however, it would be a much longer trip. For this trip we are going to fly from Naples.
