2022 - Fall - a return to Italy

Our fall travels will be in the Regions of Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. Karen will be recovering from a broken ankle and that meant some changes to our original plans. We have booked places with lots of flat space and of course a pool to relax. Morning drives to explore the area and restful afternoons.
After arriving in Rome, we will spend an evening between Rome and the small village of Castel Cellesi and then return to the beautiful hosue we rented last year outside of Castel Cellesi. There is plenty to see in this area and we will use the time to relax and recover.
We will then base outselves in Umbria staying outside of the small historic hill-top town of Montefalco.
After that, we will stay in another country house located near Orte in Lazio before returning to Rome. We will stay at the beautiful Ginnasi Palace. We have enjoyed much time in Rome while staying at this roof-top apartment.

The lower gateway to the centre of Castel Cellesi. Inside is the church and homes, rather that commercial buildings, that look onto the piazza. the old castle no longer remains.
We are staying in a beautiful house in Montefalco. Relaxing time both in the house and around the pool.

The old city is high on a hill and despite the grey stone buidings has bursts of colour throughout the old city.

Oceanus, a Titan son of Uranus and Gaia, the father of the river gods (there were 3,000) and the Oceanids (there were also 3,000) - made him a busy guy! Here Oceanus stands above the chariots of the Trevi Fountain, the largest Baroque fountain in Rome.
