Accommodations
In Tuscany we will be staying in Umbria at the Villa La Querceta, located about 2 km south of the town of Orvieto. We are told that a short walk from the house leads through the woods and offers stunning views towards Orvieto.
It sits in the hilly region of Umbria not far from Orvieto, and a short distance from where Tuscana and Umbria meet. This is going to be a great base for the events we are planning.
Not only is Orvieto a short distance away (2km), but the villa is not that far from Todi (30 km) and other major cities such as Montepulciano (67 km). Can't wait to drive the Renault along the country roads through towns on the way to see the planned sights of the day.
We are looking forward to the pool and the grounds and committed to make sure that we spend enough time "at the villa" and not all out time touring the regions. We were in Tuscany and Umbria last year so it should be easier to plan some villa time. The house, owned by people from Rome, has been recently renovated with the pool added most recently - we will be sure to give the pool plenty of use!
We will be arranging for some cooking lessons at the villa, and since we all enjoy cooking, it is pretty sure that this large kitchen will get good use! Nothing can be more relaxing than walking through local markets and picking up the food to cook for a major dinner - afterall, that is what travelling with a group is all about!
The plans are finalized. The house is Umbria awaits the group. After a week with the group we travel with our friends the Grants to the Langhe, Lago Como, Firenze, Sperlonga and Roma.
