Sorrento is at the upper end of the Amalfi Coast. Scenic and a great transportation hub for boat, bus or rail travel to other areas.

Sorrentoreally took off in the 19th Century as a resort town but the town itself dates back to the Etruscans.

Sorrento does not chase after your money as some resorts in Italy do quite effectively, it has charm, but is lacks any good beaches. Look at those cliffs.
