CAPRI NAPLES RAVELLO

HOTEL SAN MICHELE

VILLA SCARPARIELLO

AMALFI

We cross by boat to the island of
Capri. Tour the town and the Gardens
of Augustus, established by Augustus Caesar.
Also see the Villa Jovis, the summer
residence of the emperor Tiberius. There are more
dramatic views of the Amalfi coastline.

The city of
Naples resembles a nativity scene that
is dominated by the omnipotent Mt.
Vesuvio. The city's panorama stretches
from the hills of Posillipo to the
Sorrentino - Amalfi Coast and is furthur
enriched by the 3 pearls of the Gulf:
Capri, Ischia and Procida.

We follow ancient mule tracks
from Amalfi to Ravello, which is arguably
Italy's most beautiful town. Ravello is home
to an exceptional cathedral and two lovely
gardens -- those of the Villa Cimbrone and the
Villa Rufolo.

Our plan is to reserve the Villa San Michele Hotel and the Villa Scarpariello for the group. They are both small hotels that hang off the cliffs. See Italy 2001 and Great Places To Stay for more information on this place-of-your-life.

Amalfi, which has given its name to the Amalfi Coast, is a rather Spanish-looking little town with its tall whit housesilt on slops facing the sea in a wonderful setting.
